The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for the Asawase Constituency in the Ashanti region, Alaji Mubarak Muntaka Mohammed who retained his seat after defeating his closest contender by an outstanding margin has urged the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama to concede defeat in the just ended election.
Speaking on Nhyira FM in Kumasi, Muntaka said there were several irregularities in the election but they are not enough to overturn the outcome of the election.
“Though several irregularities went in favour of the NPP, they are not enough to change the winner. I therefore urge Mahama to concede defeat and let us move on as a nation.” – he said.
According to results, Muntaka Mohammed beat his opponent with a difference of over 6000 votes to claim his seat.
