South Africa’s award winning musician Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye has died in prison after cardiac arrest.
Jub Jub and his friend, Themba Tshabalala were serving 8 year jail sentences and was considered for parole in December and an early release next year after he served half of their 8year jail sentence.
He was jailed for crashing their cars into a group of school kids in 2012.
Families were willing to accept Jub Jub’s parole if he apologised to them first. One family said they were not willing to accept the decision of parole.
An official of the Department of Correctional Services who broke the news to our reporter said Jub Jub complained of chest pains in the night and suffered cardiac arrest when he was been processed to be taken to the hospital.
He was pronounced dead upon arrival. His body has been forwarded for an autopsy.
